So, after much deliberating on site detail, design, content (and not to mention a launch venue!) on Saturday November 3rd 2012, at 8pm, Slave2thevibe went live on the world wide web!
The chosen location for the launch was East London’s Rhythm Factory. We’d like to give a big thanks to Zaki, Nairi, Stuart, Pete, Bernie and the team for accommodating us!
During the fortnight prior to the launch, Charlie, Jerome, Chris, Jason and Sharone worked extra hard preparing the final DJ mixes, promotional material and website interviews, in a mad bid to go live in style! Many thanks guys! #TEAMSLAVE2THEVIBE
On the day of the launch, Charlie (Slave2thevibe) Chris (Akan Souldeep) and Zaki (Muak – Zaki Lais) were up and down ladders, mounting prints in frames and moving furniture about to create the perfect reception space for the gathering.
Meanwhile, by planes, trains and automobiles, the various DJ’s, family members and friends of S2TV were all arriving in various parts of London to come and show their support.
Main clothing printer and designer of the original logo, Motep Soulstar of So real Clothing was present at the launch. Alongside him (pictured above) is Nicola Cher Geismar from NCG Streetpole classes, whom Slave2thevibe has also worked very closely with.
Amongst others there representing the varied musical side of S2TV, were, Zion Henry and Andre from Lucid Desire Productions, DJ’s Kofi Amah and Danny Mowe. Alongside them were Producer Kensaye, vocal artist Cage Lu and Hip-Hop & Rare Groove DJ, MPC Lok.
The lovely journalist and therapist Paola Bassanese from Energya came by to join the celebrations.
S2TV would like to send a personal ‘Thank you’ out to Leroy Charles Anderson for capturing some of the launch for us with his camera. Charlie is a huge fan of Leroy’s work and has known him and his wonderful partner Juliet Essence since her very first vibrant adventures began in London.
Also an extra Big thank you to the lovely Jay Diamond from Unity Radio, Manchester. Jay travelled down and played an eclectic mix of soulful hip-hop, funk and house classics as the guests arrived and sipped on their bubbly…
After the launch itself, the Slave2thevibe resident DJ’s, Mark Mason, Durty Habit and Akan Souldeep all took over the vibes in Room 2 of the Rhythm Factory, where the dancing got serious! Kensaye, Cage Lu, Jay and the notorious Father Pete were seen pulling some stunning shapes as the guys lay down the vibes!!
